Big Thunder Railroad Pewter Belt Buckle (c. 1979) - ID: aug23034

A pewter belt buckle released to promote the 1979 opening of Frontierland's Old West-themed thrill ride, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Featuring a relief image of a charging locomotive and text that reads "Big Thunder / Disneyland," the buckle is stamped on the reverse "Pewter" and "Walt Disney Productions." The belt buckle has been encased in lucite by a previous owner for display purposes. The buckle measures 2.5"x3" overall, and the lucite encasing measures 4"x5.5". The piece is in very good condition with light display and age-related scratches throughout the resin housing. There is a small chip on one corner, and some light edge wear on the others.
